Sculpture by Robert Taylor
Just a little about me:
I am a self-taught sculptor. My preferred medium is limestone and marble but I also enjoy combining other materials within my sculptures to compliment and contrast with the stone.

I particularly enjoy the technical challenges of successfully combining different materials into one homogenous design. In particular, my work in aerodynamics and a lifelong fascination with birds has greatly influenced my work where I prefer to blend lines, cuts and curves to produce elegant, fluid shapes. I strive to achieve a sense of motion in the stone and enjoy experimenting with the use of voids within the design to channel light and give a real sense of depth. I cast translucent resins within some of my stone pieces to enable a broader range of effects to be achieved through the use of light and embedded materials.
I feel truly privileged to be able to produce pieces of art that make me happy. It is my most sincere wish that they make you happy too!
